 Uninstalling applications in Mac OSX is not hard matched to the operation in other OS. Mac OSX does not maintain software recordings in a registry. Whether you are a first time user, or a seasoned Mac user, a time will probably appear when you will want to delete a program or two.

 Where are programs stored in OSX?

Ctrl-Click (or right click) the alias of the application that you desire to uninstall, and press ”show original”. Your program icon will be present in the dock. A dialog box will open showing the primary application’s position. In order to remove the program, you simply move it into the Trash folder.

 However, until you do so, it is good to know that there are two key ] kinds of applications for OS X, as next:

              The [primary | main| first sort is well-known as an program, which comes with supporting files. As soon as you delete that kind of application, you have to make sure you delete every its supporting data, many of which can eat up a significant part of space on your hard disk.

              The some other kind is named program pack, and comes packaged as a only bundle ( e.g., Safari) with no any supporting files, represented by a single picture on the dock.

 Note: Never empty the trash folder immediately. Wait until you are certain you do not require the application.

This section describes how to remove programs from your Mac machine.

 Make certain the Mackintosh is switched on, and close all applications. Find your hard drive icon on the desktop, that may state Mac.

 [ Open the on the Applications folder and review all the programs that were installed on the Mac.

 Look through the list of accessible apps and choose the ones that must be removed. To eradicate the particular program:

1.            Select it, and hit the Ctrl key one time; in the Selection pad that opens, select the “move to trash” choice.

              Programm files may be awesome, taking up a lot of memory space. It is best to delete those. Among those applications that require large auxiliary files are multimedia programs as Garageband and DVD SP. These are stored in the Application Support folder within the owners Library, or in "/Library/Application Support/".

              Application preferences require small space; you may choose to retain them for further use if you need to. These settings are kept in the “preferences” directory in the user's Library (~/Library/Preferences), or may also be stored inside system level Library hosted at the root of the main drive.
